What Can I Do?

My son-in-law Pat is 30 years old and the father of my 2 beautiful grandsons. He was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year and was told he probably had it for 5 years. Both his parents are diabetic (type 2) and both have not changed eating habits although they have had many many complications and continue to.

Pat and my daughter and kids are visiting for Thanksgiving and I cannot believe what denial he is in. He eats enormous amounts of food and eats all the wrong things. We talked a bit about his diabetes and he says he stopped taking his medication recently because it upset his stomach. He is obviously in great denial and my daughter is very concerned as am I. I don't want to come across as overbearing, but I would like to help him get a handle on this and address the problem. Any suggestions? Thank you
